Sonakshi Sinha (born on 2 June
1987) is an Indian Bollywood actress. She marked her debut in the Hindi
film industry with 2010's Dabangg opposite Salman Khan, which went onto
become the highest grossing Bollywood film of the year. Sinha received
positive reviews for her performance, as well as the Filmfare Award for
Best Female Debut. Post her debut, she went on to star in some of
Bollywood's biggest hits, including Son of Sardar (2012), Rowdy Rathore
(2012) and Dabangg 2 (2012). Sinha then received immense critical praise
for her performance in Lootera (2013).
After
the release of Dabangg, many believed that Sinha strongly resembled
actress Reena Roy. However, in an interview, Roy denied any relation to
Sinha.
Sinha is a professed animal lover, and she posed for a PETA campaign advocating the adoption and sterilization of dogs and cats.
In 2012, Sinha was caught on to the dubbing industry, when she was roped in to lead her voice for the Hindi-dubbed version of American 3D Animated film by Dreamworks Animation's Rise of the Guardians. She has lend her voice to Tooth (Tooth Fairy) in this film.
